The present bridge over the river Bērze in Brīvības Street, below the Dobele Castle Ruins, is an object of strategic significance, and the daily routine of Dobele residents is not imaginable without it. It is important for travellers who wish to leave to Tērvete, Bauska, Saldus or Liepāja from the centre of Dobele.
